Good Samaritan – Awards 2021

PCS has chosen its 25th class of “Good Samaritans,” those compassionate, active, and energetic women and men who “go above and beyond the call of duty” to help people in our local communities.  Here is a brief introduction of our next class of honorees.

Peter Janelle has dedicated his life to helping others and giving back to local communities and the state of New Hampshire.  Committed to helping those who suffer from mental illness, Peter served in a variety of positions at the Mental Health Center of Greater Manchester before becoming the Executive Director (1999-2015).  In 2016 Peter came out of retirement to lead an initiative sponsored by the Network4Health to decrease the stigma around mental health and to improve the integrated care of persons with Medicaid.

Arnold Mukwanga Mikolo is a leader in the field of welcoming, supporting and integrating immigrants into local communities.  Known for his compassionate wisdom, he also partners with local social service agencies to promote social justice and fair practices.  Fluent in six languages, Arnold is the co-chair of Welcoming Manchester.  Additionally, he works as a Community Environmental Justice Advocate at the Conservation Law Foundation and he owns a small language business called Excel Connect Language Services.  He is a member of the Advisory Board for the Greater Manchester YMCA, the Manchester NAACP, and the Manchester Mayor’s Multicultural Advisory Council.

Sara Bee, a New Hampshire native, brings enthusiasm, a positive attitude, and tremendous energy to all of her many commitments.  Sara is a member of the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce Leadership Class of 2020 and the Queen City Rotary Club.  She volunteers for NH Businesses for Social Responsibility, the NH Tech Alliance and Women in Sales NH.  Committed to the development of young people, Sara serves on the Board of Directors of the Manchester Police Athletic League (MPAL) and Mill Falls Charter School and volunteers as the girls’ lacrosse coach with the Manchester Boys & Girls Club.
