The Solihten Institute, a national organization that provides education, consultation, and accreditation to counseling centers, awarded PCS with full accreditation in January, 2020. The Solihten Institute promotes an understanding of counseling that emphasizes the inter-relatedness of mind, body, spirit, and community.
According to Robert Johnson, LCSW, the President/CEO of the Solihten Institute, “Accreditation is a major accomplishment and demonstrates a center’s commitment to excellence.” He continues, “The accreditation process indicates that a counseling center offers professional services within a framework of quality organizational, administrative, and financial practices.” I am very grateful for the many people who diligently and thoughtfully prepared the materials that led to this important achievement.
Due to the staff’s passionate commitment to the mission of PCS, we continue to provide compassionate and effective counseling through teletherapy during this pandemic. Teletherapy, which uses video platforms and telephonic services, enables us to reach out to children, adolescents, adults, families and groups during this challenging time. In anticipation of an eventual return to in-person counseling (when it is safe to do so), we recently re-painted five of our offices, including the beautiful waiting room. We are also in the process of updating our website.
Thank you for your ongoing support of the work of PCS. If we can be of help to you, please call us at (603) 627-2702.
