November 30, 2021

PCS will be participating in Giving Tuesday on Nov. 30th, 2021.  Started in 2012, Giving Tuesday is a day that encourages people to give back in whatever ways they can.  It reminds people of the important work that is done by local non-profit agencies and provides an opportunity to offer financial support to those organizations.

The need for effective mental health services is very high at this time.  Many current events, including the COVID-19 pandemic, unemployment and job insecurity, a polarized political environment, climate change, and racial violence, are contributing to increased stress for many, if not most people.  Recent studies reveal that there has been an increase in depression, anxiety, and alcohol and drug use because of the chronic stress that people are experiencing.  The elevated levels of stress have created an elevated need for mental health counseling.

PCS has responded to this need by creating a safe, confidential, and effective telehealth platform, which allows our clinicians to provide counseling via telephone or video conferencing.  Our licensed and competent therapists treat a wide variety of issues, including trauma, depression, anxiety, addiction, and relational problems.  We provide counseling to children, adolescent, couples, and families, focusing on a holistic approach that promotes the healing and wholeness of mind, body, and spirit.  Our services are guided by the values of hospitality, compassion, and respect.

We will use the money raised through Giving Tuesday to support the continuing provision of essential mental health services during this critical time.  Additionally, we will use donations to increase our provision of integrated mental health care that focuses on the healing of mind, body, and spirit.  Integrated care brings together a wide variety of health professions who collaborate on a comprehensive treatment plan that addresses the biological, psychosocial, and social needs of the client.  Your contributions will help to support the technology that will enable us to share information quickly and confidentially with a multi-disciplinary care team so that we can provide the most effective care possible for people seeking our services.
