Do I have to be religious or attend a faith organization in order to benefit from the services provided by PCS?

No. Clients include people from a wide variety of perspectives and viewpoints. Some clients are very active in their faith traditions, some practice a personal spirituality apart from membership in a religious organization, and others have little or no explicit interest in faith concerns. While staff therapists are trained to explore issues of ultimate meaning and value in a person's life, they do not impose a particular religious viewpoint, practice, or belief system onto a client.

What Does the "Pastoral" Part of Pastoral Counseling Services Mean?

"Pastoral" means the services we offer are nurturing & sensitive to the spiritual viewpoints and values of the client. An important supporting belief in our "pastoral" work is that an individual's spiritual life may be a valuable resource for resolving conflicts, healing wounds, and creating meaning and value in the lives of persons who seek counseling at PCS.

What is Pastoral Psychotherapy?

Pastoral Psychotherapy draws upon resources from spirituality and psychology to assist persons, couples, families, and groups who are seeking growth and change.
